This is a compilation of the best of my non-professional projects. Under each video I've listed what was so special about that video in particular.

This was the video that really drove home the importance of a shot list to me. Coming up with shots is a lot easier at home than on set. This piece was written with beautiful shots in mind first, and story second, but I think the story still stands on its own two feet.
This was the first video I made with the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. There's no story, obviously, but it was the first time I'd ever worked with BlackMagic Raw footage and I was able to do some really precise color corrections.

This was an entry into the 72 Hour Film Challenge. This is the first video I made where I sat back and thought "Wow, that is really beautiful." The setting, the framing, the story, all of them work together to communicate a sense of peace.
This was created with Joseph Riordon, it wasn't a solo project. This was the first video that I went all in on the sound design. I used many more sound effects (risers, bass hits, spooky swooshes, etc.) and the the emotional power of the video is much stronger because of it.
This was created with my friends for the YouTube channel Dead Battery Productions. |
This is the first color grading job that I did a really good job on. As an independent filmmaker, I have to do every step of the process, and color grading was one of the steps I picked up latest. At first the color grading I did was more extreme than it should have been, but with this project, I've hit the sweet spot. Just a slight desaturation, a slight tint towards yellow, and then fixing things like skin tones.
